We Shall, We Shall Not Be Moved....

Protesting...hmmm

Today is Day One of the madness that surronds the G20 Summit.

I am one for free speach, I believe it's one of the many things about our country which plays a part in the Great in Great Britain, however the footage of violence that have been constantly on a flow on our news channels/shows and no doubt being broadcast around the world as I type has spoken louder than any reason why these protestor were protesting about.

This footage could have a dreaful effect on our tourism, and views of our international friends.

It's embarrasing.

I do understand that the vast majority of protestors wanted a peaceful protest, it is a shame they got tangled up with those people who just want to come and cause havox and mayhem.

I cannot stand the way we have fallen into a recession, the miss-handling of lending, it's not just the bankers, it's our government and the public!

It's greed.

Ultimately we all want out of this recession, so why the protest? The government don't want the country to be in this situation again, the big bosses at the banks don't want this either, they've admitted to mistakes (how can they not) so why?

I am sure many people will critize the Police and there handling of the protests, why? Lord knows. I, today, am very proud of the Metropolitan Police, they have shown unity and strength today, and it is bloody hard work.

I heard from a friend today who is working at ExCel on aid for the Police, she informed me that she took over from the early shift at 2pm, the early shift started at 2am but as soon as replacements came for them, they were shipped into the city to deal with the protesting there, they are likely to still be there! Horrendous.

It's an absoulet disgrace what I have seen on the TV today, these people supposedldy protesting against the bankers and anti-capitalism are also the same protesters causing untold amounts of damage - where's the sense?

I know its a minority causing the trouble but they are getting egg'd on by other protesters and they are the majority - I refer you to this link:

A special mention to the elder male in this video shouting "No violence" he is to be commended, he is the sort of protester that needed to be there today - clearly he was on his own when these RBS windows were being done in.

We'll see what tomorrow brings...
