So whilst I was in Lincoln I discovered something that really wet me knickers, I was beside myself with sheer joy.
As you may well have guessed it is of course Poundland.
I don't know if some of you are shop snobs, or merely just think that all you get in shops such as Poundland is a load of tat well let me tell you, you're very much mistaken. PL has changed over the years that I remember it used to be like when I used to buy family's Christmas presents in there!
You can literally get almost everything in this shop, its quite astonishing.
I bought on my first trip, 16 Pink & Whites (£1), Pink Wafers (Twin Pack £1),USB Keyboard Hoover (£1).
On my second trip it was for fancy dress, so I purchased a Hawain Grass Skirt Pink (£1), Pink Gloves with fur at the end (£1), a Princess Crown (£1), Pom Poms (£1), Cadbury's Giant Buttons (£1).
You couldn't want for anymore from these shops!
My recommendation to you all, is just pop in the once and check out the merchandise you will find something that you will buy, I can assure you!
I am still overcome with excitement, and now I am back in London, I went to Sutton high street on Thursday, they have a 99p Stores store, which isn't a patch on Poundland even if everything is a penny cheaper, which may I just add is rather on the annoying side!
Given the current economic climate, it really is no longer embarrassing to step into one of these shops, however working in one....well it's lower than working at McD's but that can actually be forgiven as you are all doing a tremendous job - I love you all dearly!
Poundland - give it a go!
Totally agree, in fact i love Poundland so much I set up a petition to bring a store to Hastings. Got hundreds of signatures, local press coverage and a free spending spree courtesy of Poundland head honcho, but it didnt work. The local council thought such a store would damage the towns image!
