High School Musical 3

The review of all reviews is in.

High School Musical 3

After the huge worldwide smash of HSM 1 and HSM 2 the 3rd was eagerly anticpated by its millions and billions of fans, myself included. Having not see the film when it came out in cinemas (I didn't want to be accused of being a peado) I waited for the DVD.

I had already heard the soundtrack some 18 times, so I knew the songs quite well, and the songs are good! Very good in a N'Sync 2001 kinda way!

The film, well its the first HSM film to go to the big screen, I loved it, alot, BUT I loved the first two films much more. There were moments of sheer brilliance in the third installment, such as when Zac took his top off and for a very brief moment I thought he was going to turn round so the viewer got to see his defined body but sadly not, I remembered this was Disney. The ending was excellent, it finished like it would have done on stage and I loved that, the final song had an air of "We Go Together" from Grease about it, the final number being "High School Musical".

I love a bit of cheese and I love a bit of Knob cheese, however this film was knob cheese that had been matured for about 2000 years, it was very cheesy and it had more slush than a slush puppy machine, with a few ballad numbers dedicated to Gabriella & Troy which was a bit much, not enough of Ryan and Sharpay for my liking.

Having said all this, the film did leave me with goosebumps and the songs (mostly) are good, the dancing is awesome, the ending is perfect to finish this chapter of HSM.

7/10
