The Night I Met Christian Slater

It was many years ago.

My buddy Christian was in town performing in the West End, can't for the life of me remember what show it was, I didn't go to see it but I am sure it was during a very busy moment in his acting, particularly stage career.

I think it must have been in 2004 (so 5 years ago). My best friend was at the time a G-A-Y Flier Boy, and I lived miles away from London Town. I somehow signed up to doing G-A-Y Porn Idol for a laugh (it was during my wild days). G-A-Y Porn Idol for those that don't know is a competition to strip on stage to the point where your willy is out on display to the baying mob and then the audience cheer for who they want to win, if you win you get a hundred quid and then put in the final to win the chance to be in your very own porno (that's not why I did it).

Anyways so there I was in Soho, Rupert Street to be precise with my friend helping out handing the fliers and also giving out "Vote Stevie 2 Win" stickers, as this to me was like a presidential campaign and I was going to change the world had I won. The sticker handing out event was going well and all of a sudden a commotion arose from the rear exit of a west end theatre, there was people holding what appeared to be programmes, it got me intrigued, so I looked around, all of sudden before my very eyes there was some paparazzi waiting also and this made me think "oh please let it be Britney", sadly it wasn't.

The wait to discover who it was, was quite a while but then appearing out of the stage door was none other than Christian Slater, it was frantic, fans were screaming and crying and yelping, the razzis were shouting "Christian over here" and I thought "you know what? I am gonna get in on some of this action" and that is exactly what I did. I got involved. I shouted for Christian he saw me and smiled, I handed him a "Stevie 2 Win" sticker and he put it on his jacket.

What a moment.
